The wattlebirds were not as obliging as the kookaburra, preferring to sit high in the canopy of the trees, taxing the limit of my camera lens. It's back to flowers next.
I'm quite fond of wattle birds - I love their yellow tummies and their red dangly bits off their cheeks. We have one crazy one that lands on the echium flowers outside our lounge room window and it sways violently back and forward and bangs into the window.
We have these birds on the Central Coast. They are nesting in the camelia tree.
