A mystery solved

I have w ondering for some years now  why the previous owners of our block lopped the top off the wattles rather then cutting them to the ground. And chatting to the neighbours we found the answer ... it wasn't the owners it was the neighbours who cut the trees.  It turns out their goats love eating this variety of wattle so they were harvesting them from the then abandoned block.  They only wanted the leaves, not the wood, so lopped them off higher up. Many off them have sprouted again over time like the ones below.  They are coming into flower at the moment.

Welcome Rain

Was not much more than a week ago when I was moaning about the cold wet weather in the mountains.  Well in Mudgee I welcomed the afternoon downpour.  The temperature dropped from 37C to 27C in a matter of minutes. Back in Clandulla we were wondering when it would be our turn as it was still hot and dusty.  It took a while but did arrive and rained all night.

Resting

Having a rest from putting together the new dining setting.  Flat pack furniture ... ugh.  And the weather is very hot which makes it even less pleasant.
