Bursaria spinosa


Remember the Blackthorn bushes.  When I was identifying them I read that they derive their botanical name Bursaria spinosa from their purse like capsules (busa for purse). They are now in seed and I see what they mean.

  1. Oh it's a native plant - I didn't realize.
    It's very pretty and I like these little handbags.
    I've been planting more bushy natives at home for the little birds. I'm hoping to attract some of those teeny little wrens. We have lots over at Pendlebury Hill but here, less than 2km away, not a one.
    How big are these bushes?
